WordPress developmentFor WordPress and WooCommerce sitesUsually a fixed weekly rate

Make WordPress do what you need, or move off it when it can’t.

A theme that’s hard to change, plugins that conflict, a slow or broken WooCommerce checkout, subscriptions you can’t set up, or tools that don’t connect to the site. I fix these on the WordPress you have. If the platform itself is the problem, I’ll compare staying with moving to a modern stack before I recommend either.

It’s a short form: what you need, a few lines about the project, and your email. I read every inquiry myself and reply by email, usually within 24 hours.

What I build

  • Themes

A custom theme, or changes to your current one, built around how your team edits content.

  • WooCommerce

Product pages, cart and checkout fixes, and the plugins behind them.

  • Subscriptions

Recurring products with a subscription plugin and a payment provider that supports them, tested through signup, renewal and cancellation.

  • Integrations and AI

WordPress connected to your CRM, email platform, inventory or other tools, or AI features added to the site.

  • Performance

I measure the slow pages, fix what’s slowing them (images, scripts, plugins or hosting), and measure again.

  • Migrations

A move to a new host, from another platform into WordPress, or from WordPress to a modern stack when that’s the better choice. Each one includes a content and URL inventory, redirects, and a launch and rollback plan.

Testing what makes visitors buy, on WordPress or anywhere else, is conversion rate optimization. Broken GA4, ad tracking or consent banners are an analytics & consent fix. Neither needs a separate WordPress package.

Before we start

  • Plugins and page builders differ, so I check compatibility for your site before we agree scope.
  • Staging and backups. I need a copy of the site to work on and a recent backup, or access to set them up.
  • Hosting, licenses and third-party fees stay in your name and aren’t part of my rate.
  • Your content and store data stay yours. For subscriptions, your payment provider must support recurring payments.
  • Not promised: zero downtime or legal compliance. I plan each launch with a rollback step.

How a change goes live

  1. Work on a copy of the site, not the live one.

  2. Test the changed pages, forms and checkout on mobile and desktop.

  3. Back up the live site.

  4. Release, then check the same paths on the live site.

  5. If something breaks, roll back to the backup and fix it on the copy.

Why me for this

I do the theme, plugin and integration work myself, and set up the tracking to see whether each change did what it was meant to.

How we’d work together

I usually work for a fixed weekly rate. The work is scoped around a goal rather than a set number of days, and we agree the scope and terms for each project. They’re open to discussion. Discovery and the build or migration are agreed separately.

Questions

Should we move off WordPress?

Not by default. I compare fixing the current site with moving it, based on what you publish, sell and edit, and recommend one with the reasons.

Can you take over a site another developer built?

Yes. I start by reviewing the theme, plugins and hosting, so I know what I’m changing before I change it.

Do you work with WooCommerce?

Yes. WooCommerce stores are part of this service: product pages, checkout, subscriptions, integrations and migrations.

Will the site go down while you work on it?

Work happens on a copy, so the live site keeps running. Launches carry some risk, which is why each one has a rollback step.

What does your site need?

Send your site URL, what it runs on (theme, page builder, WooCommerce or not), and the change you need. I’ll tell you what’s involved and whether WordPress is still the right home for it.

Sending an inquiry doesn’t commit you to anything or book a call.
