Conversion rate optimizationFor ecommerce stores and lead-generation sitesUsually a fixed weekly rate

Find what’s stopping visitors from buying, then test the fix.

You have traffic, but too few visitors buy or get in touch. I review the buying journey and your data, rank what to change, build the changes and test them where your traffic allows. You can hire me for one of those steps or for all of them.

It’s a short form: what you need, a few lines about the project, and your email. I read every inquiry myself and reply by email, usually within 24 hours.

Today this first appears at checkout.

A review, a build, or a testing program

They’re separate commitments. You can start with the review and stop there.

  • Review

I go through the purchase or lead journey on mobile and desktop, check what your analytics actually records, and look at how comparable sites handle the same steps.

You get: a ranked list of issues, a test hypothesis for each one worth testing, an implementation brief your developer or I can build from, and a list of tracking gaps.

  • Build

I build the changes you approve in your Shopify theme, WordPress site or custom front end, and check them on real devices.

You get: the changes live, or ready to test. A change that hasn’t been measured is a better guess, not a proven win.

  • Testing program

I design experiments, implement them, check the tracking, and evaluate the results with you.

You get: a plan for each test (hypothesis, who sees it, the main metric, how long it needs to run) and a written read-out at the end, including tests that end without a clear result.

Shopify conversion review

A smaller starting point for Shopify stores, at a fixed price. Choose how deep the review goes; I deliver either one within 2 business days of getting access.

Basic Audit

$99

  • Two competitor stores checked on the same pages
  • A summary of what gets in buyers’ way
  • Two experiment ideas
  • The one change I’d make first

Pro Roadmap

$499

  • A UX and UI review of the whole purchase flow
  • Three competitor stores checked
  • A review of your analytics: where the funnel loses buyers, and what’s blocking them
  • Three experiments, each with its likely impact, the effort involved and how to measure it

For storefront builds after the review, see Shopify development.

Building the changes afterwards isn’t included. It’s scoped separately, under the weekly rate.

Before testingConfirm purchases are recorded once, and that there’s enough traffic to detect a change in a reasonable time.

Before you start

  • Enough traffic to test. With low traffic, an A/B test can run for months without a clear answer. Then I’d fix the measurement and make the clearest improvements without a formal test, and tell you that’s what we’re doing.
  • Analytics you can trust. If purchases or leads aren’t recorded reliably, that gets fixed first. That’s the same work as an analytics & consent fix.
  • Someone who decides. You approve what changes and what gets tested.
  • Access. Your site or store, your analytics, and permission to change and test the journey.
  • No promised uplift. Some tests end without a clear result, and I report those as they are. I won’t promise a conversion rate; I’ll show you what changed and what the data says.

If your own developer or agency builds the changes, the implementation brief is written for them, and I can check the tracking afterwards.

CRO works on the visitors you already have. If you need more of them, that’s sales funnels. If the changes amount to rebuilding the store or site, that’s Shopify or WordPress development.

Why me for this

I do the research, the build and the tracking myself, so the person who found the problem is the person who checks the result. My work includes UX audits, A/B test implementation, and GA4 and PostHog tracking.

My experience

I was Director of Engineering at Conversion Advocates, a conversion rate optimization agency.

My experience

Most recently I built an agentic system for conversion optimization. It works on ecommerce data in a closed loop: it reads the analytics, suggests changes, evaluates them, runs the tests and starts again from the results. It can run on its own, or with a person approving what gets tested.

How we’d work together

I usually work for a fixed weekly rate. The work is scoped around a goal rather than a set number of days, and we agree the scope and terms for each project. They’re open to discussion. A review, a build and a testing program are agreed separately, so you can start small.

Questions

Do I need a lot of traffic?

For A/B testing, yes. Without it a test can run for months and still not give a clear answer. With lower traffic I focus on the review, the measurement and the clearest fixes, and I’ll say when a formal test isn’t worth running.

Can you guarantee a higher conversion rate?

No. I can find the likely causes, build the changes and measure them honestly. Some changes help, some don’t, and some tests end without a clear result.

Can my own developer build the changes?

Yes. The review includes an implementation brief written for whoever builds it. I can build the changes myself if you’d rather.

Is this the same as a redesign?

No. A redesign changes many things at once, so you can’t tell which change helped. I rank individual changes and test the ones that matter where traffic allows.

Show me where people drop off

Send your site or store URL, what you’ve noticed or what the numbers show, and which analytics you have. I’ll read it and suggest where to start: a review, a build or testing.

Sending an inquiry doesn’t commit you to anything or book a call.
