Agent HQ brings Claude and Codex into GitHub workflows
GitHub expanded Agent HQ so Copilot Pro+ and Enterprise users can run Claude and OpenAI Codex alongside Copilot inside GitHub and VS Code. The update keeps agent work tied to repos, issues, and pull requests without switching tools.

- Claude and Codex are in public preview and available across GitHub, GitHub Mobile, and Visual Studio Code, with Copilot CLI support listed as coming soon.
- Each coding agent session consumes one premium request, and Claude/Codex must be enabled in settings before use.
- Agents can be assigned to issues or pull requests, submit draft pull requests, and respond to mentions like
@Copilot,@Claude, or@Codex. - VS Code support requires version 1.109 or later and includes local, cloud, and background session types depending on the agent.
- GitHub also highlighted Code Quality checks and the Copilot metrics dashboard as public-preview features for teams.
